  • Maritime Commerce – Shipping in the logistics sector, which has the lowest costs, will facilitate rapid growth in exports and imports for all industries in Thailand, as Thailand has significant shipping ports like Map Ta Phut, which is currently developing phase 3. It is expected that in the next 20 years, it will increase the capacity to handle liquid materials and natural gas by an additional 19 million tons per year. Meanwhile, Laem Chabang serves as the main base supporting the development of the Eastern Special Development Zone. Additionally, the important shipping port Map Ta Phut, currently in phase 3 of expansion, will accommodate up to 18 million TEUs per year, and Sattahip commercial port will support transportation and tourism growth, accommodating modern cruise ships, along with the natural port of Koh Si Chang, which is another area where the EEC is organizing to create sustainable growth in the Eastern Special Development Zone.

        The development of the EEC economic zone will significantly impact the influx of labor into the industrial sector in the three provinces. The National Statistical Office predicts that by 2570, employment will increase to 10 million from just 2 million in 2561. Looking at the figures, the overall economy, especially per capita income, in Rayong has risen from 986,153 in 2558 to 1,141,398 in 2561, indicating that Rayong is developing in terms of labor and increasing employment, aligning with the growing demand for housing in the EEC economic zone.
